The TOLIS Group, Inc. is the manufacturer of the BRU Backup and Restore Utility family of products. BRU has provided reliable backups to the Unix community since 1985, Linux and FreeBSD since 1994, and it is now available on the Mac OS X platform. Our initial release for the OS X environment was the OS X Agent for our Linux-based BRU-Pro enterprise backup solution in 2002. This was followed up with the release of BRU CLI for OS X in March, 2003, BRU LE in 2004, BRU Server in 2004, and bruCLONE in 2007. BRU itself was developed from the perspective of successful restores. While this seems self evident - what good is a backup utility that can't restore? - most backup tools are developed based on the backup process without concern for the recoverability of the data involved. Testing of tape devices and BRU on the Mac OS X platform includes support from every major tape device vendor, including Tandberg Data / Exabyte, HP, Quantum, IBM, Sony, BDT, SpectraLogic, ADIC, StorageTek, and others. TOLIS Group, Inc.provides only Backup and Restore tools. It is our sole business focus and none of our employees has less than 3 years experience in this particular environment (many have over 10 years).
